Rua Augusta is a historic pathway in the middle of Lisbon. Still, it is not exactly the most pleasant place nowadays: you'll be overwhelmed by sketchy offers, day and night. Located right in the city centre, at one end of the main street. You can pay to go up for the views. Just in front of the magnificence of the river and the wonderful view of the Christ statue and the XV Abril bridge! The style of the gate is really elaborated and offer many picture opportunities from different angles.
I had no time to take the opportunity of enjoying the view from above from the mirador located there We will do it next time!! We got to see this huge arch upon walking the shopping grounds of Lisboa. There are also couple of restaurants amd cozy cafe along the way. It is a great piece of architecture and the street that follows makes for an enjoyable stroll. We went here in januari and it wasnt very cold.
